The Galiotović Gallery, located at Alkarsko Trkalište Street, is housed in a three-story building specially adapted for this purpose. The building was built in dressed stone in the 19th century and belonged to the Videka family. Two exhibition spaces as well as the smaller adjoining areas equipped for a variety of workshops cover an area of approximately 400m2.
The Gallery, a subsidiary of Sinj Arts and Cultural Centre, opened its doors to the public in 1999. After World War II, the building was nationalized and passed into the hands of Sinj City Council. It was named after its donor, Mrs Iva Galiotović, who bought it from the Council and donated her savings to help adopt the building into the public gallery. Since its opening until today the Galiotović Gallery has proved to be a lively centre of cultural activity.
More than fifty exhibitions have been presented on the premises including some great names of Croatian art such as Mladen Veža, Mile SkraÄić, Josip Botteri Dini, Josip Trostmann, Kažimir Hraste, Josip Generalić and Željko Muck.
The Gallery also welcomes local artists to display their work.
In addition to holding exhibitions, organizing promotional activities, lectures and other programs,The Galiotovic Gallery also serves as a venue for classical music concerts and it has hosted famous guitar players Darko Petrinjak and Goran Listeš, to name just a few.
Over the past few years the Galiotovic Gallery has become a well-respected centre of the Sinj art scene, and not only.
